Attapulgite, also called palygorskite, is a kind of clay rock with attapulgite (palygorskite) as its main component. It is mainly produced in the strata after the Cretaceous, mostly in the form of clay. Its appearance is the same as that of ordinary clay, especially it is very similar to montmorillonite clay, and the two often coexist.

Attapulgite has a very unique crystal structure and tunable surface charge, and is an ideal cheap adsorbent, suspending agent, thickening agent, thixotropic agent, desiccant and nano-micro-nano material.

2. Good suspension. Effectively prevent the precipitation and delamination of paints and coatings;
3. Shake and melt well. Easy to paint, thins under shear and thickens after resting;
4. Good thixotropy. Directly added, with good compatibility, no need to change the process and formula;
5. Good leveling. Anti-shrinkage and fish eye, not easy to sag;
6. Good weather resistance. It has strong acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance and mildew resistance;
7. Good thermal insulation. High temperature resistance, heat insulation, insulation;
8. Good environmental protection. Chemically inert, non-polluting, inhibits the growth of microorganisms, absorbs toxic volatile components, and is environmentally friendly.
 

Properties and uses of attapulgite powder


Due to the special physical and chemical properties and technological properties of attapulgite clay, it is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, building materials, papermaking, medicine, agriculture, etc. The largest amount of paint, drilling mud, edible oil decolorization.

(1) The role of attapulgite powder in pig breeding It can be used as a poultry blanket to absorb moisture and odor, and improve the environment in the farm.

(2) Attapulgite powder can ferment farmyard manure as a special slow-release fertilizer for rice with attapulgite as the matrix. The raw material components are as follows by weight: attapulgite 60-80, bamboo charcoal powder 10-20, melamine 10-15 Polyvinyl alcohol 4-6, urea 10-12, diammonium phosphate 50-60.

Attapulgite Clay Rock Grinding Mill Machine


Attapulgite Clay Rock Grinding Mill Machine are the grinding equipment that process 30-3000 mesh attapulgite powder.

There are many grinding mills on the market that can be used to process attapulgite, such as ball mills, Raymond mills and ultra-fine mills. They have different grinding effects in attapulgite production:

1. Ball mill

The ball mill can be used to process materials with Mohs hardness below 7 and humidity below 6%, and is used in the processing of attapulgite, mainly as a coarse powder equipment. The mill has two grinding methods: dry grinding and wet grinding. The former is used for mineral processing, and the latter is widely used in cement, ceramics, refractory and other industries. The advantages of the processed attapulgite are that the discharge speed is fast, the particle size of the finished product is coarse, about 20-200 mesh, and the particle size mass fraction is 45%-65%. 

2. Raymond mill

Raymond mill is mainly used for fine powder operation of materials, and can process materials with Mohs hardness not greater than 9.3. During the processing of attapulgite, the particle size of the finished product can be adjusted between 80 mesh and 325 mesh, which can meet the production requirements of most industries. 
 

3. Ultrafine grinding mill

Ultrafine grinding mill is a kind of equipment for fine powder processing. The finished product is 0.25-0.015mm, that is, 80-800 mesh. In the process of attapulgite processing, the modular design of the powder separator can meet the requirements of different fineness, frequency conversion speed regulation and product fine classification. 

Attapulgite is a mineral with a chain-like layered structure, a magnesium-aluminosilicate rich in water, and can be used in petroleum, chemical, building materials, paper, medicine and other industries after grinding. The advantages of ball mills, ultrafine mills and Raymond mills required in the grinding production stage are introduced.
